Summer is a busy time for shows, so my studio is pretty lively at the moment with commissions, new work and preparing for raku firings.

Art In Clay at Hatfield House, 3rd-5th July is now on the horizon www.artinclay.co.uk It is always a lovely show to visit, with talks, demonstrations and nearly 200 potters selling their creations. A must for ceramic collectors, enthusiasts and students.

This month I am showing amongst 10 artists at South East Open Studios 6th-21st June at Smallhythe Studio, Tenterden, Kent www.smallhythestudio.com The gallery is open 10am to 6pm Thursday to Sunday until 21st June.

I will be demonstrating ceramic techniques at Smallhythe Studio on Thursday 18th June from 2.00 to 6.00pm then again on Friday 19th June from 10.00am to 2.00pm, so do pop by if you are in the area. Visitors will even be able to get their hands dirty and have a go themselves! Other demonstrations include painting, copper plate etching, porcelain modelling, mosaic and jewellery making. There’s something for everyone to see.

Other exhibitions include Woven at Wing Gallery, Wadhurst, East Sussex www.wingartgallery.com where I am showing my ceramics alongside textile artist Ptolemy Mann and selected contemporary artists. The show runs until 24th June and is well worth a visit.

Later this summer is the annual Rye Society of Artsist’s 21st Summer Show in its new venue. This will be my second show since being invited to be a member of the society, and I am looking forward to seeing how the new gallery space works. The show will run from 1st – 31st August at the Community Centre, Conduit Hill in Rye. It is open from 10.30 to 5.30 daily, with the hugely popular Private View on Friday 31st July www.ryesocietyofartists.co.uk
